It had metal hinges and latch closure. The bottom has metal tack "feet". The top handle is tortoise shell lucite. It measures 10" long, 4 1 2" high and 5 1 2" deep. Very good condition (some dings at the corners and what appears to be remnants of tape on the back left side all seen in last photo). Catalog # 4871
